Antoni Verger is a Professor of Sociology at the Autonomous University of Barcelona and an ICREA research fellow. His research examines the relationship between governance institutions and education policy, with a focus on the design and impact of reforms such as public-private partnerships, shared accountability systems, and quality assurance mechanisms. He applies approaches from comparative public policy and education policy analysis, and has received competitive research funding from the European Research Council (ERC), the Marie Skłodowska-Curie and Fulbright programs, and the Spanish Agencia Estatal de Investigación, among others. He holds editorial leadership roles with the World Yearbook of Education and the Journal of Education Policy. He also plays a leadership role in the Erasmus+ joint master’s program Education Policies for Global Development (GLOBED), which has been recognized multiple times by the European Commission.
