AccountED Research Featured in the ELNE Journal

The March 2026 issue of the ELNE Journal — published by the Educational Leadership Network Europe, an Erasmus+ network of 70+ organisations across 30 countries — included a research summary from the team: “Collaborative Governance in Education: Advancing Participatory and Inclusive Cultures,” by Mauro C. Moschetti, Edgar Quilabert, Antoni Verger, Marina Castany, and Delfina Campetella (UAB), with Marcel Pagès (UB). The issue brought together 31 practices and research summaries from 14 countries. Our contribution looked at collaboration not within a single school, but through the formal governance structures that public authorities set up to sustain cooperation between schools.

The argument, and a note to policymakers

Drawing on reforms in Portugal, the UK, Belgium, New Zealand, Chile and France, we argued that the success of collaborative governance depends on how deliberately it is designed. The issue closed with a “Letter to Policymakers,” where our recommendation was to move away from isolated, school-by-school decision-making and towards shared responsibility for learning and wellbeing.
